Australia! Land of the Wispa Gold!

This weekend is infinitely better than last weekend. For one, I haven’t fallen over. Thanks for all the enquiries with regards to my leg. It’s (slowly) getting better and the absurd amounts of tension I’ve had in my calf muscle for the past couple of days has disappeared today. Hooray! And well done to my cousin, Jennifer, who realised today that I’d actually hurt my leg... despite 93.7% of my status updates on the Book of Face this week relating somehow to my inability to walk, climb stairs or enjoy a hearty run. Though technically, I didn’t do the running part prior to the fall. Yesterday was the first time in a week that I’ve managed to climb a flight of stairs normally and it felt rather awesome. Going downstairs? Still quite painful.

So Sunday… usual Sunday fare for me today. I’ve lazed in bed for as long as I can stand getting completely wrapped up in this blog and all because of this post and now I’m up and about, a load of washing is on, I’ve chopped up the delicious pineapple I bought yesterday and combined it with some lovely diced peach. Shame my stomach is growling about the Awesome 50c Wispa Gold’s that Laura and I got in Coles yesterday. 50c!! That’s like…30p, for A WISPA GOLD! I am persevering with the fruit though. It’s by far the most healthy thing I’ve had all week. Going to use the rest of the pineapple in a sweet and sour/mushroom concoction tonight. Last night, I made korma and I WILL make chilli sometime this week.

I’ve managed to move myself away from listening to the Spamalot soundtrack so much (but really, why wouldn’t you want to listen to it?! The voices of David Hyde Pierce (Niles Crane in Frasier), Hank Azaria (various Simpsons’ characters), Tim Curry (Rocky Horror) and the unbelievably amazing Sara Ramirez (Callie in Grey’s Anatomy), the song about Finland! Coconuts!) … wow, tangent… um… oh yes, new music! Sia was recommended to me by someone at work so I downloaded her latest album. And fell in love. Lyrically beautiful and there’s a lot of strings and piano, which depresses me somewhat given my lack of keyed instruments. Here’s my favourite song:

I’ve also re-fallen in love with Florence and the Machine but I’m worried that “You’ve Got the Love” will get overplayed and I’ll start to hate them again. She’s my photocopying music though. Adele has been making the rounds as well since I downloaded her album a few weeks ago. Her cover of “Make You Feel My Love” is one of my favourite songs ever and it seemed a bit ridiculous that I didn’t have her album. My iPod has been boy-heavy lately: Muse or New Found Glory or Damien Rice so it’s refreshing to listen to something different.

I can’t cut out musicals completely though and thanks to a workmate, I now have Meryl and Co belting out Abba songs (but not Chiquitita *sad face* Julie Walters and Christine Baranski singing round a toilet door? Awesome!). I have to get the Chicago soundtrack next. Downloaded the Nine one but I can’t get into many of the songs. Fergie’s “Be Italian” and Kate Hudson’s “Cinema Italiano” and the Marion Cotilliard songs are about as much as I can listen to. At least Daniel Day-Lewis can sing better than Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth.

Plans for this week are few and far between at the moment. Need to do a bit of clothes shopping at some point because I currently have one pair of jeans that I’m going to be wearing to death to hide the wonderful bruising plus it’s getting slightly chillier in Australia! Winter is on its way… if you can call 20 degree weather winter…

Shall leave it there for now, need to unload the washing machine and take the rubbish out. And eat a Wispa Gold.

Kirsty
xx
