First of all... this has been bugging me ALL week. There's a show here called Talking About Your Generation. It's a trivia show, three teams from different generations (Baby Boomers, Gen X and Gen Y) answer questions... one of the rounds this week is 'Name that Tune' so they've been playing this on the adverts ALL WEEK LONG:
(Have potentially fixed autoplay/repeating issue... *fingers crossed*)
Anyway. Was I able to remember what programme that was from? No. No, I was not. And just to annoy those of you who don't know. I'm not going to tell you. Well, next blog I will. (Mum, you don't count. You already know the answer :P)
Given that it's just taken me 45 minutes to get that thing on my blog, I'm pretty tired. Not much to say anyway. Leg is still bruised and apart from a tiny relapse yesterday, it seems to be doing well. Shorts aggravate it though, they all sit right where the bruising is the worst. Typical.
My new love is fresh pineapple. I'm on my second one of the week which is pretty damn awesome if I do say so myself. And! AND! I chopped up some spring onions and peppers earlier as a sort of mini-salad to have with my bowtie pasta :D Feeling v proud of self for ignoring massive slab of choc in the fridge, tasty crisps in the cupboard and mini-magnums in the freezer. Pat on the back for me!
My love for Sia is growing pretty much every day. My new favourite song is Day Too Soon from her Some People Have Real Problems. Downloaded an earlier album today (Colour the Small One) so I'll start listening to that ad nauseum starting tomorrow :) Also on the new albums/downloads this weekend:
- The Temper Trap - Conditions (Awesome songs for you to youtube: Sweet Disposition, Love Lost)
- Imogen Heap - Ellipse which I haven't heard any of but fell in love with her song 'Hide and Seek'
- Bertie Blackman - Secrets and Lies - only heard one song by her, a cover of a song called 'Tyronne' from a Triple J Live Album (like the Australian equivalent of Radio One's Live Lounge)
- Triple J's Like A Version 2 - Various Artists. V v excited about listening to that.
- Florence and the Machine - Lungs - Got both CD's now and cannot WAIT to listen to whatever comes after Drumming. Favourite song of hers at the moment is 'Kiss with a Fist'.
I shall leave you with two videos. The first is one of the new tracks from Sia's next album which comes out in June. I am completely in love with the video. Muy awesome. The second is Cat Empire covering Hotel California. In French. It's probably the song I've listened to the most this week and got a massive grin off someone in the elevator at work cause she could hear the awesomeness near the end of the song (from 3:20 onwards) blaring from my headphones which decided to fall out when I was scrambling to find my pass. Lovely!
