The X Factor?

It's that time of year. The days are getting shorter, the weather is getting colder and windier, it's too cold to sit in my living room without wrapping myself in layers, more layers and a blanket.

It's also the time of year where Saturday night television is dominated by the X Factor, meaning that Christmas is well and truly around the corner.

So. The X Factor. So far I've been less than impressed with two audition shows that I watched last weekend. So unimpressed that I didn't actually see one singer that I liked. Even the supposed 'good' ones were a bit crap. It's making me miss Australian X Factor and the awesomeness that was:

See? Chills.

Instead, in Britain, we're treated to this monstrosity:

Um. Yes. And she made it to the Top 100, how?

Sigh.

But despite bitching about it and how ridiculously car-crash-esque it's become, I'm going to be completely addicted. And I hope Louis gets the groups again.

And right now, I'm absolutely loving Katie Waisal's voice!

PS. Can't wait for the return of Cheryl.

What fruit?

Isn't it rather awesome how I can go to the kitchen for a glass of water and something healthy for breakfast and yet return with the glass of water and make a beeline for the bag of buttons I bought earlier this week? Hmm.

Jet Lag

Today is the first day since I arrived back in beautiful, rain-soaked Scotland that I haven't felt like throwing my phone at the wall for displaying a time that humans shouldn't be awake at (ie. 4am). Six hours sleep last night, so I'm getting closer to my goal of 8, which is fantastic.

Lots of stuff to do today. I wrote a list last night before I passed into unconsciousness so hopefully it's coherent enough to follow. Couple of job applications, need to sort out my ipod, put some books up for sale on Amazon (if you need any books in German, see me :P) and maybe get around to uploading some photos.

I still don't feel completely settled being back here (though I must admit, having a massive room all to myself, including a rather comfortable double bed, is helping just a tiny little bit). Then again, I didn't expect to come back and fit in straight away.

7:30am now and my body is telling me that it wants toast.

And also...

Despite being in Australia for a year where spiders can render you dead with a bite from their venomous little pincers, I freaked out and flailed like a four year old child this morning when I spotted a rather large arachnid trying to escape from the shower in the bathroom attached to my shiny, new room.

It is currently imprisoned in a transparent glass fortress and shall remain there until it goes to spider heaven or someone else removes him.

Any takers? :P
