Connected

Good day blog readers!

It's taken me four months but I have cracked. I can't stand NOT having my own computer any longer so I bought myself one of these:

SHINY!

I also got myself a mobile broadband dongle thing from the same company that I got my phone from. I know in my last blog that I said I needed a break from the net, which is true. Because the prepay broadband has a limit on it, I can't afford to be online all the time. But at least if people want to skype me, it doesn't involve me sitting in a net cafe along with a hundred other people.

It also means that when I want to check something, like finding out what's going on in Sydney this Tuesday (Australia Day!), I don't have to go to the net cafe after work or try and sneak some internet time at work. I can just check it from here. It'll also mean that I'll be able to upload pics a bit easier.

Anyway, justification time over lol.

I went to the Sydney Ex-pat meetup group on Friday night. It was fairly terrifying at first but I got speaking to a few people who'd never been before, and then some more people and then some others. By the time it got to around half past eight I was all talked out. And apparently I sound Canadian. News to me!! Although that is the second time in the past week I've been mistaken for a Canadian. Beezaaaaaaarre. Ended up going for Thai (shocking right? Me eating Thai food for a change :P) with five of the girls I met. It was really nice but I was totally flagging by the time we got to the train station. And despite the fact that none of us had met prior to Friday night, we had a really good time. I'm actually kinda proud of the fact that I made it through the evening :) Definately going to the next one!!

Yesterday it was so hot, I literally couldn't be outside for more than 20 minutes. It was up in the 40's and not pleasant at all but today it's back down to the low 20's. I actually wore my fleecy jacket to go to the shops! Strange strange Sydney!

That's about all my news for this week. I'm moving to another desk at work tomorrow. Time for a change of scenery. As I said, it's Australia Day on tuesday so day off work but don't know what I'm doing yet. Then Saturday sees the arrival of Miss Kelly Innes! :D Also really want to see Nine at some point this week. Despite crappy reviews and a 'lack of memorable songs', it has a pretty awesome cast and is directed by the guy who did Chicago.

Right, dinner is almost there so I'm off!

Much love
xxx
