Good day peoples of blog land,
Someone needs to get me some sort of medal. I managed to go without internet for six days. Yes, six. SIX WHOLE DAYS. Well, apart from using facebook on my crappy phone. That really only lets me update my status and see other peoples status' so it doesn't REALLY count.
So what have I been up to this week? Um... not much really. Settling into a routine at work, getting training so my days are a bit more varied. Learning to cope on trains without aircon... I find it amazing that given how hot it's about to get that there are trains without aircon. And they are NOT fun. Laura and I have had to buy pedestal fans for our bedrooms and now I can't sleep without the hum of it. Weird.
Sorry, going on about the weather when it's all cold and horrible in Scotland... oops. Can someone please explain to me why the obnoxious English people always come and sit near me? Sneezing loudly, spreading germs and burping do not an attractive man make. Neither does using the word 'gay' in a derogatory fashion or using the C word. Sigh. Their parents must be so proud.
On Thursday, Laura and I went to see the Christmas lights being switched on in Martin Place (equivalent of Wall Street in New York). It was pretty cool and there were some fireworks after the lights went on. It was pretty cool.
But apart from that, I've spent far too much time watching 30 Rock and attempting to get to bed early lol. Awful, I know. I'm going to try and spend more time in the city seeing people instead of just hopping on trains as soon as I've finished work.
Ooh! Story for you all. Guess what was mentioned in mX (really cool free paper that's given out in train stations Mon-Fri)?? BrewDog!! Yes, the Fraserburgh one. I had a bit of an 'oh my god' moment on the train reading it lol. How bizarre, they have news stories from all around the world and this ace section called Overheard where people can send in stupid things that they've heard people say... like last night when I went for Thai food down the street from the flat, I heard a girl say "Isn't Thai food, like, Taiwanese here?". I also overheard a couple cycling past Hyde Park, stop to say "Isn't that an albatross?!" pointing at an Ibis. Sure it is. Hmm.
Going to head for some lunch soon, then seeing as I have no plans until this evening and was really good yesterday and tidied my room and laundry, I might watch some more X Factor. But after I've had some lunch, my stomach is growling like mad. And bought Laura's birthday present!! :D
Love to you all
xxxx
