Early Morning Ramble

Despite pretty much falling asleep on the couch last night after watching a truly dreadful episode of the X Factor with my cousin Jen, I am currently wide awake and have been since 4 this morning. Or maybe it was earlier. I’m not sure. I’ve lost track of time.

People said to me that jetlag was less likely when flying back from Australia.

These people were lying. Clearly.

Since I left Australia on Thursday, I slept roughly four hours on the second flight (the 13.5 hour behemoth from Singapore to London), crashed out for four hours on Friday night, then after a two hour break, slept blissfully for another six. I went to bed at 11 last night and was still pretty much awake at 2am.

I can’t remember the last time I had anything close to a normal night’s sleep.

But anyway, I am back in Britain. Not entirely sure how I feel… happy, yes… sad, yes. Things would probably be a lot better if my body would just let me sleep for a few more hours.

I can’t wait to start catching up with family and friends. It was pretty great seeing my Dad, Sandra and Callum at the airport along with meeting Avril for the first time, even if I was slightly out of it and lacking coherence. Back at home, Stella was waiting with Roxie who went absolutely mental. She didn’t know who to jump on first (for those not in the know, Roxie is my labrador/collie, not some random person who lacks social boundaries). Karen and Rachel stopped by and I dozed while my mum went into great detail about nearly every photo (and there were close to a thousand) on her camera. Warning: YOU ARE NEXT!

Tomorrow/today I’m going to unpack and sort out stuff in my shiny new room (it feels odd having a double-bed and wardrobes again). And since I accidentally messed up my iPod last night, refill it with music, then maybe sort out photos.

Or perhaps I’ll fail at productivity like I did yesterday and spend the day in bed watching movies.

Maybe it’s time for some Night Nurse… it’s now 6:35... How did that happen?!

xx

PS. So, so, so, so, sooooooo happy for Sarah, Martin and Baby Fin :D Can't wait to see you all very soon! :D
