A Ferry Ride Away

Good day!

It has rained! I wasn't sure if it did that in Australia :P On Friday night, it started bucketing and there was some fun thunder and lightning as well. Had a good day yesterday despite the rain. Me and two of my roommates at the hostel (Nancy and Lee) took the ferry to Manly. Apparently the ferry is good on days where the weather doesn't suck. Not so yesterday! As we went through the heads, the boat was all over the place. But we made it in and out alright.

In Manly yesterday, there was a jazz festival. It probably would have been better attended if it wasn't for the weather but it was still a really nice day. There were some amazing bands, but my favourite was one of the roving street bands, Hot Potato. They were awesome. I would have video'd them but my delightful camera decided to eat it's way through the new batteries I'd put in earlier in the day. Note to self: do not buy cheap batteries. Actually, next time, buy a camera that you can charge up! Then avoid all this crap with batteries.

After the festival, we went to a Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown, not far from the hostel. Really good food there and you order it off a computer screen. I had the sweet and sour fish, yum. Think I'd definately go back there.

Checked out of the hostel this morning as I'm staying with the relatives in Mosman for a week. Fiona's taking me out this afternoon so I can get my bearings. At the moment, I am lacking in bearings :P

Update on the job search: applied for a couple of jobs and handed in my CV to a bookshop near Central station.
Update on apartments: hmm.

That's it for now, going to watch some TV for the first time since I got here. Minus the half an hour of 50 First Dates that I watched in the hostels laundry room last night.

Kirsty xx

PS. The house in Mosman is really close to Taronga Zoo, so look forward to some pics of koalas and kangaroos :P
