Busy Saturday!!
Woke up when my alarm went off instead of switching it off and promptly falling back to sleep. Excellent start! Saw our first flat just after 10 this morning and it's gorgeous. Nice area, not too far from the city and really close to Newtown which is possibly one of my favourite suburbs in Sydney. So we're applying for that flat.
The second flat was nice as well. Doesn't look like much from the front but it's alright inside. Enough space for two people who will probably spend the next six months sitting on beanbags. So we're applying for the one too! Great. That means I get to spend the whole of tomorrow doing paperwork and trying to find people to sign my references. They're a BIT (and I mean, just a BIT) OTT when it comes to the paperwork here... it's actually insanity. It's a wonder anyone gets a place to live.
After the second flat, we took the bus over to Newtown and had some quesadillas in a Mexican place. There was a goth festival going on which probably explains why a coffin in a carriage drew up outside pulled by black-plumed horses. Seriously. Took some photos. Of the horses. Not of the coffin. Imagine it had opened! I wondered if it was some sort of Halloween thing and that a zombie/mummy was inside... anyway... after the yummy mexican food, we went for ice cream at a place called Cold Rock. They mix sweets (or fruit) in with your ice cream. It's yum. Surprise surprise, I had no fruit whatsoever. Unless maltesers are a fruit. No, thought not.
Then we took another bus back into the City and jumped on a ferry to Manly. Had a wander along to the beach and saw some people playing volleyball, a guy doing some sort of kite-wind-surfing thing and the cutest labrador puppy ever. Please note: Roxie is NOT a labrador. She's a colarador. Or a labrollie.
Now I'm pretty much wrecked. Had a lot of sun today so I'm ready to get some sleep lol. Think I'll upload a few photos onto Facebook before I go though. I'll post links to them next time :)
Love you all!
xx
PS. How scary is it that I'm officially mid-20's in 11 days time?!?!!?!?!?! ARGH!
