Cheating...

I've decided that I can't blog and write massive emails to friends and family... but I like the idea of having a blog, so from now on, I'm just going to write everything here and people can read it if they want to. Or not.

But because I'm on a bit of a photo-uploading frenzy, here's the email I sent yesterday!

Helloooo!
Lots been happening since I sent my last email!! Caught up on all my sleep now but still managing to sleep about 9 hours a night, I'm blaming all the walking I'm doing :D
I took the train and bus (since they were doing works on the tracks) to Laura's place in North Sydney on Saturday morning. She showed me around (really nice suburb) and we to the Harbour Bridge where it was windy, so very, very windy! Annoyingly I've forgotten my memory card so I can't upload the pics from that day yet. I must get my memory cards organised!! SOOOO many photos! We walked across the Bridge (please note: NOT over the top :P) and wandered about The Rocks which is a really nice area, full of old buildings, really nice cafes and markets, though the markets are probably only on at the weekends. We had lunch at an ace little cafe with an outside terrace where two lorikeets continually flew at Laura's head. Awesome. For the first time, I was properly frozen by the time I got home!
I chilled out on my own on Sunday, just doing things around the hostel like laundry and getting locked out of my internet banking. Ah the fun of being in another country! Also went to a bookshop next to the hostel and got some total bargains :D

On Monday, I went over the bridge again to Mosman this time. I met up with Norma (ask my mum if you want to know exactly how I'm related to her, it's still a bit of mystery to me!) in town before we got the bus over to Mosman. It's such a beautiful spot! Lovely beach... it was a bit windy but apart from that, absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to go over there again actually. Apparently, it gets quite busy at the weekend. We had lunch at quite probably the poshest restaurant I've ever been (note to self: do not have poached salmon ever again!) and took the bus up the hill to Norma's house. We had dinner with her daughter and her family. They live in a beautiful, massive house (it has a lift and a pool...) and it has the most amazing view of the harbour area. I had my first barbecued meal and we had a lot of laughs at my accent :P It was really good though and it's great knowing that I've got them to get advice from if I need it.

Today, Laura and I went to the cinema and saw 500 days of summer. It was a really good film, brilliant music! Afterwards, we went to Darling Harbour and wandered around there. Lots of pics to upload. I don't know if my facebook albums will work if I send them through here, but I'll give it a go. If it doesn't work, I"ll find somewhere else to upload them so you can see how ace this place is! We stayed at Darling Harbour taking photos as it got dark then through Chinatown to get a bit of food.

Tomorrow, I think the plan involves pancakes for brunch at Darling Harbour... yum!
Having a great time and I've started looking for jobs and flats. Going to have plenty of time this weekend so going to hopefully view a few places in the city if possible.

Here are some photos:
